How to set resale prices that earn a profit: a formula from real cost, worked examples, margin versus markup, and what Instafollow supports for resellers.

As a reseller, what price should you sell at? Too high and customers do not buy; too low and no profit is left. This guide gives a formula from real cost, examples you can calculate along with, and what Instafollow supports for resellers. If you are just starting, read the overview in starting as a social media reseller first.

Key takeaways

  • Selling price = unit cost + your own costs + the profit you want, and margin and markup are different numbers
  • Pull your account's real prices from the API (action services) and calculate from those, not prices you remember
  • Do not promise refill or cancelling to customers, because the services open as of October 2026 have neither in the system

What is unit cost based on?

Prices in the system are per 1,000 units. Unit cost = price per 1,000 ÷ 1,000 This table shows example costs from open services; for how to read price per 1,000, see price per 1,000 explained.

Margin versus markup: what is the difference?

The two terms are often swapped even though they give different numbers. This example uses a cost of 40 baht and a sale price of 100 baht per 1,000.

Margin and markup from the same example

Term

Formula

Example

Profit per 1,000

Sale price − cost

100 − 40 = 60 baht

Markup

Profit ÷ cost

60 ÷ 40 = 150%

Margin

Profit ÷ sale price

60 ÷ 100 = 60%

The profit you actually keep must also cover your own costs, such as payment fees, ads, and chat time. Count these before you set a price.

The sale prices are hypothetical numbers for calculation, not market prices or a recommendation to sell at them. Different customer groups accept different prices. For a related way of thinking, see pricing and platform fees formula.

TipSet a minimum order

A small order takes as much chat time as a large one. For TikTok views, 100 views at a sale price of 120 per 1,000 is 12 baht, a profit of only 8 baht. Try a starting pack such as 1,000 views.

What does the system support for resellers?

This table covers only what exists. API example docs are on the API Access page after you register and sign in; it is not a public page.

What the system supports for resellers

Supported

Detail

API key in your account

Create and regenerate it on the API Access page; the old key stops working at once when you regenerate

Key scope

Full access to order and manage, or Read-only to read data only

Callable actions

services, balance, add, status, cancel, refill, refill_status

Listing services and prices

services returns the service list, prices, minimum and maximum

Account balance

balance shows what is left; orders are deducted from it

Call limits

A rate limit applies per API key; going over returns a 429 response

cancel and refill work only for services that support them. Data as of October 2026 shows no open service offering either, so do not promise them to customers. To try before selling for real, order a small amount yourself or use the free trial on the services where it is open.

How to answer customers without overpromising

Do

  • Say the result is a count added to an account or clip, not real people each time

  • Say the count may drop under platform rules

  • Give start time as a range, not a fixed time

Don't

  • Guarantee the count never drops

  • Promise refill when the open services have no refill in the system

  • Guarantee a clip will reach the feed or bring sales

Use as a guide for sales messages

Before you announce a price, run through this list.

Reseller FAQ

What markup should a reseller add?

There is no fixed number. Set the lowest margin you accept after your own costs, then test selling and see whether customers reorder.

Can cost prices in the system change?

Yes. Check the latest price on the services page or through the services action before you adjust a sale price.

Do I need the API to be a reseller?

No. You can start ordering through the website. The API suits you when orders grow and you want to send them automatically.

Where do I create an API key?

On the API Access page in your account after you register and sign in. Keep the key secret; if you suspect it leaked, regenerate it and the old key stops working at once.

A customer asks whether the count will drop. What do I say?

Say plainly that it may drop and nobody can promise otherwise, and suggest a small first order. Customers who know beforehand are not disappointed later.

Summary

Price from your account's real cost, deduct your own costs, keep margin and markup apart, and tell customers the limits plainly. That lasts longer than pricing by feel.
